OWENSBORO, Ky. — An open records dispute between city officials in Owensboro and the town’s newspaper is headed to the Kentucky Court of Appeals.

Nearly four years after changes to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) went into effect, the FBI, in response to a lawsuit in which I am a co-plaintiff, said the bureau would now begin to abide by a little-known provision in the law that requires all government agencies, when asked, to provide estimated dates of completion to records requesters.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Some critics said on Tuesday that they were worried that it could be easier for universities to hide scandals after the state Supreme Court sided with Ohio State University about open records.
An expert said that the Supreme Court's decision would make it harder to get records in the future.
