City asks for TMTA open meetings probe

From Topeka Capital-Journal:

Interim city manager Dan Stanley sent Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor a letter Wednesday asking him to investigate whether the board of directors for the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority recently violated the Kansas Open Meetings Act.

Stanley sent the letter at the request of the city’s governing body, which voted 6-4 Tuesday evening to approve Councilman John Alcala’s motion to postpone a decision on whether to set a 4.2-mill cap on the TMTA’s property tax levy for 2013.
