Twitter, Politwoops reach deal: Archive can again surface politicians’ deleted tweets

Call it "The Case of the Missing Tweet." A politician sends out a controversial remark using Twitter. Then lo and behold, when public outcry begins, the tweet is suddenly nowhere to be found. It's been deleted.

Twitter Is Shutting Down Even More Government Transparency Accounts

Twitter has blocked 31 transparency-seeking accounts from accessing its developer API. These accounts all archived and made public the deleted tweets of powerful people like politicians. Twitter’s actually been doing this for a while now.
