N.J. open records law has come a long way in 10 years

Thanks to OPRA, New Jersey residents have access to far more public records, including emails and internal memos, than they ever did before 2002. New Jerseyans who care about how their government operates and who want a seat at the table when it comes to the decision-making process have educated themselves about the types of documents they are entitled to review and the things their elected officials can and can’t do as they go about performing the public’s work.
