Gina Barton is the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s law enforcement investigative reporter. She has written about troubled police officers, dysfunction in the state’s child welfare system, Wisconsin’s alcohol problems, dangerous doctors and police brutality. She was part of a team of five reporters that won a 2009 IRE Award for breaking news investigations for work examining holes in the state’s DNA database.
