Virginia activists seek more open city government

From Richmond Times-Dispatch:

A community activist and a City Hall watchdog are pushing for Richmond’s City Council and its boards and commissions to improve the quality and quantity of information available to the public on the city’s website.

A petition, circulated by Rick Tatnall, a Church Hill community activist and businessman who dropped out of the mayor’s race in June, and C. Wayne Taylor, a retired Richmond attorney who runs the City Hall Review website, says Richmond “lags far behind” six other large Virginia cities in the type of information made available to residents and how easy it is to access that information.
