Open records request exposes “shortcomings”

From OurOuray.com:

This is the first in a series of articles regarding the Plaindealer's open records request to Ridgway School District. The Ridgway School Board president and the Ridgway School District Office received open records requests from the Plaindealer on Mar. 23, the Friday before Spring Break. The records requested were recordings of board meetings, treasurer’s reports, and email correspondence among board members discussing district business. Under the Colorado Open Records Act, all of these are open to the public and should be readily available to any citizen of Colorado within three working days, or seven if there are extenuating circumstances.
