Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams on Wednesday described the department’s decision to begin charging for police reports as overdue.
The department will charge $2 per report beginning Oct. 1, a news release said. Reports will be purchasable through the police website. Accident reports will also be purchasable at www.crashdocs.org, a website operated by Carfax.
