Knox County refuses to release 6 emails to county mayor

From The Tennessean:

KNOXVILLE — The Knox County Law Department has refused to release six emails that appear related to questions about campaign spending pending before a state board.

The Knoxville News Sentinel requested copies of Mayor Tim Burchett’s email under the state’s open records law.

The Law Department, which recently directed county departments to refer all public records requests there, refused to release the email messages on grounds they are “personal.”
