Connecticut FOI exemption pulled from legislative bill

The big surprise at the special session of the General Assembly Tuesday was a sentence that would have given companies looking for state grants a broad exemption from making public any records that could adversely affect their financial interest.

The original bill on this was voted out of the Commerce Committee during the regular legislative session that ended May 9, but it was never approved by the House or the Senate. At that point there was no reference to a new freedom of information exemption.
