Plainfield (N.J.) resident fights school board’s policy on videotaping meetings

PLAINFIELD — About four years ago Maria Pellum, a city resident and concerned mother, began attending Plainfield Board of Education meetings.

Eventually she began asking school officials questions. And when those went unanswered, she began requesting public documents, such as copies of legal bills and closed-meeting minutes, through the state’s Open Public Records Act.
