Open records request show Alabama State paid $240,000 in legal fees in 7 months

From The Republic:  MONTGOMERY, Alabama — Alabama State University paid more than $240,000 in legal fees in the seven months between November and May.

The Montgomery Advertiser obtained the figures through an open records request. The payments included $83,000 to White, Arnold and Dowd in Birmingham. The law firm, which includes former federal judge U.W. Clemon, has been representing the university during a forensic audit ordered by the governor’s office.
