Gov. Tom Corbett administration’s records denials called public ‘abuse’


As a gubernatorial candidate, Tom Corbett vowed to provide “an open, transparent, accountable and trustworthy government.” Corbett said he was committed to “100 percent transparency throughout state government.”


But observers say the administration’s actions tell a different story. Based on state government record request denials that have made their way to the Office of Open Records — the state’s independent arbiter of whether a government record is public or exempt from the Right to Know Law — the Corbett administration has denied a wide range of requests.
