Embarrassing open meetings moment could produce good result

From Statesman.com:

An embarrassing chapter in Austin City Hall history is about to draw to a close, but the extended inquiry into whether six current and one former council member broke the state’s open meetings law shouldn’t be forgotten.

Statements of council members who confirmed that they were accepting deferred prosecution deals had a tone of relief that this episode was drawing to a close. The episode isn’t really closed, however, until the agreements are made public. Neither is the episode closed until council members complete a two-year promise not to run afoul of the open meetings law.
