Kittitas County WA Commission weighs opening its labor-contract talks to the public

Kittitas County commissioners are considering opening up union negotiations to the public.
The proposal follows a request made by the Freedom Foundation in June.
Under the Washington Open Public Meetings Act, all public agencies — including cities and counties — must make their meetings accessible to the public. The act exempts labor negotiations from open public meetings requirements, and talks with unions usually aren’t open to the public. Read more...
